Introduction

This is the Data Protection Policy of Donegal Safety Services Ltd.  This document explains how we collect and process your personal data. 

Please note that we will never share your personal details with anyone else for the purpose of marketing. We will only market to you if you have explicitly consented for us to do so.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect personal data from you when you request information from us, when you register for a course or when you use the contact form on the website. 

We will also collect personal data when you opt in and consent for marketing purposes.  We may collect your name, email address and telephone number.

To assist you with your requests/enquiries the data we collect on the contact form is your name , and email address.  This allows us to communicate with you. If you additionally agree to us marketing to you, we use your name and email to provide you with news and updates relevant which may be relevant to you.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy  After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

Information supplied on  contact form submissions will be for used for customer service purposes, we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.

Cookies

We use Cookies for various tasks on the website. Some of these are essential, such as the functionality of our website software, but other cookies such as Google Analytics can be turned off if you wish.

There are two types of cookies used on the Donegal Safety Services Ltd website; strictly necessary cookies and performance or analytical cookies.

Embedded content from other websites

Who we share your data with

Data collected by our contact form is used solely for the purpose of communicating with you.  Where applicable, relevant personal data will be given to an examination body who will request this data in order to verify, document, accredit and/or send on to you your official certifications.

How long we keep your Personal Data

Contact forms – personal data submitted via our contact forms will be deleted 24 months after your last communication with us.

Email marketing – your name and email address will be kept on our email marketing system until you unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe, this data is deleted. However, we may still hold your personal data from emails, or on other systems, e.g. database and accounting software.

Is your Personal Data secure

Your personal data resides in the EU and is secured using the most up to date and modern technology however no system is full proof and this needs to be kept in mind.  In the unlikely event that there is ever a breach you will be notified by us within 72 hours.  However, we hope that never happens.

Marketing

We will not share your personal data with anyone for the purposes of them marketing to you. We will only market to you if you have explicitly consented for us to do so and have chosen to OPT in to receive information from us.

From time to time we will send you newsletters, offers and information on upcoming courses we offer via email. You can choose to OPT OUT of this communication at any time should you wish.

Your Rights under the General Data Protection Rules (GDPR)

You have a right to retrieve a copy of our personal data. You have the right to request the removal of your data (“right to be forgotten”). You have the right to request a restriction from processing your data. You have the right to withdraw your consent or to use of your personal information at any time. You have the right to have your request dealt with within 30 days of receipt

In the above circumstances, we may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the Personal Data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that Personal Data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.
